Hi everbody,
I am new to kawasaki forum, and new to owning a Kaw. I just picked up a old school 79 kz1000 . I just sinked the carbs today, they were cleaned a while ago, but not rode since the cleaning. I would like to know where the air/fuel screw should be(turns).
it runs better since the sink but still no power past 5500. I thought these things were supposed to be real quick? any ideas?

I usually ended up betwenn 1 1/4 and 1 3/4 turns on most of the KZ's. It depended a bit on the extent of modifications, but 1 1/2 turns would be a safe starting point. If you can run by a shop with an EGA machine, set it to 3-4% CO.

Not likely to have an effect on the "no Power" over 5500 though. You might be expecting too much? They were fine "in the day", but a 600 overpowers them now.
