I have a 2003 Kawasaki Concours ZG1000. The fuel gauge seems to be very inaccurate. When th eTank is full it reads full. Hwever as the fuel burns off, it heads off to empty. When the gauge reads empty the tank has 10 - 12 litres (2.5 - 3 gallons) of fuel left, about 1/3 tank. This is where you most need the accuracy. Is this common with this bike or do I need a new sender unit?
Thanks in advance

It's common on the Concours. The gauge reads empty when you are reaching the reserve level. The reserve is 2.5-3 US gals so you still have about 100-150 miles before you hit empty. It's goofy, but since there are two trip odometers I use one for fuel estimates. The last time I hit reserve it was at 235miles. I put in just over 5 gallons of gas. I am getting about 42 to 46 mpg depending on how I ride.
