Anybody have any info on carb cleaning for this year and model bike? I recently got this great bike, but it doesn't run consistently. It fires up easily for the first run of the day, but will die if left to idle and is hard to start after riding for a bit (like 20 min). It smells rich and smokes from time to time (especially upon starting). I figure with it being a 74, and me being a new owner (not knowing the previous or its history) the carb should be the place to start. I am a novice at understanding engine function/repair, but am competent and want to learn. Any insight on how to get started?
