Clogging carb jets

I think I'm going to go crazy.
I have a 1982 KZ1000 and every time I want to ride I have to take the carbs off and clean the jets. Aftwards it runs very nicely. Next time it won't idle because the jets are clogged.

I've removed and cleaned the tank. Cleaned the petcock valve and screen. Used fresh gas. Cleaned the carbs and jets repeatedly. The fuel filter is clean. I'm at the end of my rope.

This is very frustrating. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to make it stop clogging up? Thanks.

You say you've removed and cleaned the tank but did you seal it to prevent any further flaking?

I did not seal it. I guess I'll do so.
I kind of expected the fine petcock screen and the fuel filter to prevent flakes from geting to the carb.

Any other suggestions as well?
