KZ1000P dies after running

Hey all, I just picked up a 94 KZ1000P and it has an issue I'd like some feedback on. When I picked it up, it would turn over but got no spark, so I wiggled wires and presto, it started up. I found the loose connection and shored it up, but now after riding for a few miles she just up and dies on me and has the same issue. If I let her sit for a spell she fires back up. It seems to happen faster on hot days. Any ideas on where I should start? I'm thinking coils but I don't know how to check if they are the problem. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Mostly your rider's become hot in these summer days. So I would recommend a checkup from any expert mechanic may be there is an electrical problem.
