buying 86 1000 have questions

I am buying an 86 1000 with 36,000 miles. Bike is from a reputable guy and was maintained well but has been sitting inside for two years and not ran since then. Any of you guys think I will need to redo carbs or should I be good to go? Owner thinks I would be OK to charge battery and go. What should I look for when I get this bike running? I never had a bike with four carbs and I just want to get it right so I can ride with no worries. Let me know what you think. Thanks

youll definitely want to check the carbs if it hasnt run in 2 yrs , if they were drained when stored ,you may be ok, if gas was left in the bowls , the pilot jets will likely be plugged and
maybe even the mains...either way you ll need to pull them and clean em out...

when buying any used bike , condition is everything...things like brake pads, air filter, oil
and filter, cables, spark plugs, are consumable items and should be checked or replaced as needed ...oil and filter changes are the most important in a bikes service history , as well as tire wear ...the concours bikes while looking like a sport bike , most generally were ridden by older touring riders so wont be as abused as a 600 sportbike will be most of the time... check the bodywork for cracking as one that old will probably have some issues...bad bodywork will kill the deal for me as i like em in stock condition and finding bodywork for older sportbikes is a challenge at best...
