|Paintitgreen||Yeah, l have thrown a few ideas around. I am starting to consider a 650 Ninja. From what l understand it is more of an upright design and pretty tame compared to the 600. Mainly what l am looking for is a bike that is similar in stance and riding position to the Concourse without being on so much bike. I have also considered a Katana, mainly because one can be had for a couple grand and seems like a decent stepping stone.|

|carbon90||Hey, welcome! Sounds like you will not get in trouble getting a medium level one as you are somehow experienced. You might want to check on Kawasaki Ninja 500R or Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD. The later is good old looking with 80's engine.|

Hi everyone...cool site here!
Hi everyone! I am new here and am looking at getting back into riding. I have ridden plenty in the past, mostly on dirt and quads, but haven't really ridden any significant amount of time on the street in about 20 years.
I am kind of fishing around to see what would be a good bike to get back on. I would like to be riding a 1400 Concours within a few years but l am not stupid enough to jump on one rusty. Any suggestions on what a good re-entry bike would be? I am 6'3" and about 230. I was thinking maybe a 600 Ninja for a year, then jump to an older Concours before getting a 1400. Or maybe someone can tell me of a smaller sport/touring bike? I just don't want to get myself in trouble on a bike that has a ton of power. To keep things in perspective, the last time l put a lot of miles on a bike was in the early 90's, and my bike then was a 1985 Honda Sabre v40.
